Hey Tom - your images here are both VERY dark - I think you need to look at the tonal range here - and I can't help thinking that the key to bringing this image to life would be to reconsider the sky in terms of additional tonal range and nuance.
Yes, honestly they tend to get darker and darker as I make them for some reason, and I spend a lot of time fiddling with the lighting to try and keep things visible, but in this case I'll have another look.
